Toy Story Land

   Today, Disney announced the names for the two attractions that would be occupying the new, 11-acre expansion land called "Toy Story Land." These attractions are:

- Slinky Dog Dash ~ This attraction's story says that Andy built a coaster track that travels all around his backyard, which is where you will be, using the "Mega Coaster Play Kit." And, being the creative person that we all know Andy is, he put Slinky Dog on the track to act as the coaster car.

- Alien Swirling Saucers ~ Much like the now-extinct Mater's Junkyard Jamboree attraction at Cars Land in Disney's California Adventure, this ride will fling you around while "The Claw" looms just above you.

   Toy Story Land will not be including just these two attractions. The fan-favorite attraction Toy Story Midway Mania! will be put into the new land, possibly getting a remodel in the future for it to fit in right. Also, as expected, restaurants and shops will be part of it as well.

Major Announcements Made!

   Disney has given us some major announcements today, including such things as opening dates, attraction names (will be covered in another blog post), and new nighttime spectaculars. So, in the wake of all of the news hurtling at us, here is what we know so far:

- The new "Frozen Ever After" attraction and the accompanying "Royal Sommerhus" section of the Norway pavilion at EPCOT will be opening in June. However, no exact date has been given.

- The revamped "Soarin' Around The World" will be opening at WDW in The Land pavilion on June 17th, just one day after the attraction will make it's worldwide debut on June 16th with the opening of Shanghai Disneyland. Accompanying the new film for the ride, a third theater will also be part of the renovations made to the attraction.

- The longed-for 3rd track for Toy Story Midway Mania! at Disney's Hollywood Studios will be opening on Memorial Day, and will most likely blend in seamlessly with the preexisting attraction structure. 

- A new nighttime show will be debuting at Disney's Animal Kingdom in place of the Rivers of Light! show that was originally planned to open this April. The new show, which will be called "The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic!" will open on Memorial Day this year, and will go on with performances throughout the summer so that Rivers of Light can have more time in development.

- Finally, the new "Tiffins" signature restaurant will also hold it's opening ceremonies on Memorial Day as well, popping up in Disney's Animal Kingdom park.
